Allison Antevy
President & CEO

Allison Antevy partnered with her husband Peter in 2010 to make their shared vision for better emergency care for all children a reality. Under her leadership, Pediatric Emergency Standards Inc. (PES) has consistently grown and has become a leader in the field of pediatric resuscitation. Prior to PES, Allison held various positions at NBC, within the Clinton Administration and the Hillary for Senate campaign in 2000. During her tenure at the White House, Allison traveled extensively nationally and internationally in advance of the President and Hillary Clinton serving as a communication liaison between the White House and the host state or country. She then served as Trip Director for Hillary Clinton traveling with her during the Senate Campaign. Allison holds a Juris Doctorate from Cardozo School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Peter Antevy, MD
Founder & CMO

Dr. Peter Antevy, innovator of the Handtevy Pediatric Resuscitation System, is a nationally recognized lecturer and expert in the field of pre-hospital pediatrics. He is extremely passionate about improving both adult and pediatric pre-hospital care and evaluating and improving upon currently accepted medical practice.  Dr. Antevy received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1999 and then continued on to complete his pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. He then achieved a subspecialty degree in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh before returning back to Florida where he has been a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital since 2005. Dr. Antevy also currently serves as the EMS Medical Director for Davie Fire-Rescue, Coral Springs Fire Department, Southwest Ranches Fire Rescue and American Ambulance, and is the Associate Medical Director for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Miramar Fire Rescue and Seminole Tribe Fire Rescue. Peter currently serves as the President of the Greater Broward EMS Medical Directors’ Association, an organization whose providers serve the 1.5 million residents of Broward County, Florida. For his efforts, Dr. Antevy was awarded the prestigious Raymond H. Alexander EMS Medical Director of the Year Award in 2014. He also was honored as one of the 2015 Top Ten Innovators in EMS by JEMS.

Sandra Benavides, Pharm.D.,FCCP, FPPAG
Director of Pharmacy

Dr. Sandra Benavides received her PharmD from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Benavides then completed a general practice residency at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center and a Pediatric Pharmacotherapy Fellowship at the Ohio State University. She has been in academia since completion of her training. Currently, she is the Assistant Dean for Accreditation and Programmatic Assessment at Larkin College of Pharmacy at Larkin Health Sciences Institute in Miami, Florida. As she is dedicated to the education of future pharmacists, she is the lead editor in the Pediatric Pharmacotherapy and Pediatric Pharmacotherapy Self Assessment books. Dr. Benavides has extensive patient care experience in the hospital and community setting and devotes her career to educating future pharmacists on the utilization of safe and effective medication use in pediatric patients.  

Maricar Cabral RN, CCRN
Director of Nursing

Maricar Cabral brings over 25 years of nursing experience and a vast amount of knowledge when dealing with general pediatric care and the critically ill child. Maricar started her career at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles before coming to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in 1997. She has experience working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Emergency Department, and is the go-to-girl when a pediatric cardiac patient arrives in the ED for care. Maricar currently serves as a Co-chair for the JDCH Clinical Ladder Committee and Emergency Department Code Committee and is a Program Manager for PEPP and PALS courses. Maricar was recently awarded the 2015 First There First Care Nurse Excellence Award and is excited about her latest endeavor: actress and screenwriter!  Watch out for her TV debut on the Learning Channel’s series: Untold Stories of the ER which is scheduled to air this December 2015!

Fran Stein
Executive Director

Fran Stein received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Psychology from Brooklyn College and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Nova University. As the Director of Mental Health in the early 90’s, Fran was involved in an extensive management training program, which led her to several positions in the management field.  For 12 years, she was a national practice management consultant for dental practices working for a dental consulting company and then for her own consulting business. Prior to joining the team at Pediatric Emergency Standards, Inc., Fran was Director of Business Administration for a dental company and was responsible for the management of 5 large dental offices in Broward County. After years of volunteering for children's charities and working with children in the mental health field, Fran feels she has come full circle and is now utilizing her skills at a company devoted to saving children’s lives.

Patrice Guillaume, MBA
Operations Manager

Patrice Guillaume graduated from the Florida State University and completed his Master of Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare Management from Florida International University. He has spent time in the hospital sector at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Primary Care Facilities where he used his analytical skills to help improve several patient focused projects. He has a background in Lean Six Sigma process improvement and seeks to help improve pediatric patient care.
